2014 TERM 2 ART ATTACK

We are learning to ...

• plan a drawing using the elements of line, tone, texture, colour, form, shape, and space
• use the techniques of sketching, using the correct brush strokes, colour mixing, texturing, and applying a black border.
• communicate and interpret my idea of a kowhaiwhai pattern.

Student comment: I am really proud of what I have done because I like the colours.

Term 1 2014 Written Language

WALT write a timed recount about a time when we did something special with our whanau or family.

Write about:

·      when and where you did something special

·      who was with you

·      what you did (think about the order you did things)

·      how you felt and why you felt this way.

Hanmer Springs Walk Track

Last holidays I went with my mummy, my brother called Luke and my daddy. We all stayed in a house with four bedrooms. There were three downstairs and one was upstairs. We all stayed upstairs. I was next to my mummy’s and daddy’s bed at the corner of the bedroom near the slope of the roof. Then we went for a walk up a steep hill. When we came to the top of the hill it was a pleasant view. I felt tired after that because it was so steep.

Next steps

Add some extra details with some describing words to let us know what you saw on the walk up the hill and what you saw in the view that was so pleasant.

2014 Term 1 Art Attack

WALT: use different painting techniques to paint a picture of a Lizard or Geko.

 We will know we can do this when:

·    we can mix colours

·    use different colours to emphasise specific features/details

·    use different brush stroke techniques to create different effects

·    we can paint a background

Term 4 Dance & Drama : School Production

Jack knows a good reader will read on when they get stuck on a word and by reading on it will help them to work out what the word might be.
